Aqui fica uma referência importante e que poderá significar que dentro de algum tempo o tuning será visto de outra forma. A ANECRA tem algum peso e ser membro fundador do ETO quer seguramente significar alguma coisa. No site do ETO pode ler-se:

ETO MISSION STATEMENT
ETO is the official European umbrella association, founded in January 2006. The organizations mission is to protect the European Tuning market, as well as to inform its members about upcoming EU and World wide laws and legislations that will affect tuning and aftermarket products and services offered. Moreover, ETO´s main aim is to provide its expertise and to take active part in the discussions and working groups that are creating new and amending existing laws, in order to ensure the safety and environmental behavior of automotive products, as well as to ensure a healthy competition and communication among the European and Worldwide Tuning industry professionals.

ETO will play an important and dynamic role, by ensuring a promising future and a steady growth of the European tuning industry. ETO will continuously follow the global trends and changes focusing in the European market, while it will take action towards research and monitoring of the Tuning market.

In the near future, ETO will be in constant communication with its members and the market in general, mainly through congresses, specialized exhibitions, training seminars, specialized publications, newsletters and of course, through its official website www.e-t-o.org

Foi no decorrer do Encontro Empresarial do Sector Automóvel do Minho, realizado no passado dia 18 de Fevereiro, em Braga, que a Direcção da ANECRA assumiu oficialmente o seu apoio às empresas que se dedicam ao Tuning, visando a regulamentação, coordenação, promoção e dignificação das actividades deste sector. Na ocasião, a ANECRA anunciou que já criou dentro da sua estrutura, uma secção autónoma dedicada ao Tuning, cujo objectivo prioritário será de propor a criação de um enquadramento legal coerente, procurando desmistificar algumas ideias erradas que muitas vezes aparecem associadas a esta modalidade. A Direcção da ANECRA espera criar as condições para que os profissionais deste sector possam desenvolver o seu trabalho, numa nova área de negócio altamente promissora e dentro de um contexto legal e regulamentar adequados.

Nomes como a VATZ ou SEMA não são certamente desconhecidos dos adeptos do tuning. O facto de a ANECRA fazer parte desta associação vai permitir, mesmo que o seu peso ou know-how na materia não seja ainda grande, que haja uma grande partilha de informação e pelo menos que possa fazer com que as directivas emitidas possam ser partilhadas com o governo e implementadas. Mas tudo isto não terá qualquer significado sem haver uma lei ou regulamento para poder permitir que os carros possam ser alterados.
